The former site of Guangdong Peasants’ Association was originally a garden villa of Chen Gongshou, deputy head of the Guangzhou Commercial Corps. It was later confiscated became the office of Guangdong Peasants’ Association during the period between 1925 and 1927. Yuexiu District Hall for Integrity Culture is located here. On May 1, 1925, the First Peasants’ Congress of Guangdong Province under the leadership of the Communist Party of China was held in Guangzhou on May 1, 1925. At the congress, Guangdong Peasants’ Association was established, the Declaration of the Guangdong Peasants Association was issued, the Association’s constitution was formulated, the Executive Committee was elected, with five people as standing committee members, including Ruan Xiaoxian, Peng Pai, Luo Yiyuan, Zhou Qijian, and Cai Ruping. After the establishment of Guangdong Peasants’ Association, farmers associations across Guangdong were vigorously developed and peasant movements throughout the province were guided. During the Great Revolution, about 800,000 peasants in more than 20 county-level peasant associations in Guangdong were under the administration of Guangdong Peasants’ Associations. It was the first provincial peasants’ association in the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
