Located in No. 10 Middle School of Guangzhou and also known as the“Little Red Mansion”, Guangdong Provincial Training School for Communist Promoters was where the early organization of the Communist Party of China in Guangzhou was established. In the winter of 1920, Chen Duxiu went south to Guangzhou, and established a Party organization with Tan Pingshan and other people. Here they set up a Training School for Communist Promoters and a Bopomofo Teaching Team, established a Marxist Research Society, published journals such as Guangdong Mass News and New Youth, and vigorously spread Marxism in southern China. At the beginning of 1921, the early organization of the Communist Party of China was formally established in Guangzhou, and the Party members included Chen Duxiu, Tan Pingshan, Chen Gongbo, and Tan Zhitang. The secretary was Chen Duxiu before Tan Pingshan replaced him. The early organization of the Communist Party in Guangzhou, together with Communist Party organizations in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan and Changsha, was among the first Communist organizations in the country.
